Last month, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake shook us awake. At first, Ndlula, Umngani, Khosi, and youngsters Zuli and Mkhaya scampered in different directions, bodies drumming the land’s growling belly. Each then bolted back to the enclosure’s center. Backing in, they faced out at the world beyond the San Diego Zoo.
